A brief introduction to our key staff members is provided below. It is not an exhaustive list of people involved with Steplight programs as many are employed on a casual and project-by-project basis.
Rowan Mitchell (Managing Director)
Rowan is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Management Accountant and has held senior management positions in Australia and the United Kingdom. His focus is on corporate engagement, partnership development and building processes that exploit technology to deliver new services to the community.
Ryan McCarthy (Operations Manager, Director)
Ryan is a Photovoltaic and Solar Energy Engineer and an energy efficiency expert. He has worked with a number sustainability consultancies, delivering advice to both individuals and organisations to assess their carbon footprint and implement changes that yield financial and environmental savings. Ryan’s focus is on new technologies, technical support and developing quality, cost-effective and innovative solutions which have a long-lasting impact.
Anoop Gupta (Business Programs Manager, Director)
Anoop is a Renewable Energy Engineer, an experienced business manager and an energy efficiency expert. He has managed several businesses at executive level and delivered business services to a broad range of local and international clients, including aid agencies, governments (domestic and foreign), NGO’s, commercial enterprises and the general public. Anoop’s focus is on the identification of achievable, cost-effective energy efficiency solutions across a range of organisation types.
Brandon Willoughby (Director)
Brandon has over fifteen years’ diverse corporate and information management experience with exposure to a broad range of organisational processes. He developed Steplight’s original home assessment software in 2007 and has overseen its development since.
Marta Lett (Residential Programs & Sustainability Training Manager)
Marta is a grass-roots activist and educator who has walked the talk since long before sustainable living was on the radar of the general population. Marta has facilitated various community development and training programs over the past fifteen years. She has a certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently completing an advanced diploma in Applied Environmental Management. Marta’s primary focus is on co-developing and delivering some of Steplight’s home sustainability training programs.
Alegria Alano (Sustainability Programs Support Officer)
Alegria is a Marine Ecologist with a keen interest in resource sustainability. She has worked with prominent organisations such as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund and brings a love of all things living to Steplight. Alegria’s focus is on communications, technical support and customer care.
Ian Moxon (Household Sustainability Trainer)
Ian has been an advocate of sustainability for over fifteen years and is focused on practical action. Ian designed and built a fully off-grid (electricity, water and sewer) solar-powered home, in which he currently lives with his family. Ian is now focused on sharing his experience through Steplight’s training courses, in which he opens his home to students, and through Home Sustainability Assessments. His is an inspiring story of what can be achieved in just about every home.
